ahhhh....the sun!

Left Grand Rapids this morning with an expectation of nasty snow storms tomorrow and Thursday. Won't miss that at all!

Arrived in Detroit airport with 15 minutes between connections. This was my first time inside DET but I didn't have time to check it out. However right beside my departure gate was this little place to eat...thought it was kinda funny to find that my dog has a restaurant and he doesn't even cook me dinner!


landed in Tampa to 74 degrees and full sun! The drive out to Clearwater Beach was interesting...these are tough economic times...lots of businesses closed.

Within an hour of getting to the hotel I was barefoot in the sand with a book in one hand and a daquiri in the other. Ahh the life! Took a walk down the beach until I couldn't see my hotel anymore. Found a couple shells but not much. Need to get a tide table to check for best shelling times. However I did come across a jellyfish washed up.


Then I walked back and went out to the end of the pier. It cost $.50 to get past the gate about half way out. Seemed kind of silly! It was pretty windy and chilly as the sun went down.


When I walked back, there was a street performer who blew up a balloon half way and then snorted it up his nose and pulled it out his mouth. Talk about wrong on so many levels!



I watched the sunset near the pier with my toes buried in the sand. Goodness I miss that feeling!


I ordered in some Thai food (I like to try it in every town I visit) and retired early since I have a lot of work starting tomorrow through Friday!
